FCC Commissioners Brendan Carr and Mignon Clyburn aren’t the only ones welcoming new staffers to The Portals.

Democratic Commissioner Jessica Rosenworcel has a new Special Advisor and Confidential Assistant.

Appointed to the role is Jessica Martinez, who Rosenworcel commended for her “policy expertise, skilled coordination, and background on Capitol Hill,” which she said will be a
welcome addition to her office.

Martinez was formerly Outreach and Member Services Coordinator for the powerful House Energy and Commerce Committee’s Democratic Staff.

She has also served as the Communications Director for the Congressional Hispanic Staff Association.

Before her time on Capitol Hill, which began in February 2014, Martinez served as an Associate Podesta Group, a Washington, D.C. strategic firm focusing on children’s healthcare policy issues.

Her prior experience also includes time as a fellow with Progressive Congress, an internship with the Democratic Steering and Outreach Committee, and the Latino Outreach Coordinator for the Utah State Democratic Party.

She is a 2013 graduate from the University of Utah.
