Wednesday, March 31st marked 85 years on the air for WOWO-AM Ft. Wayne, IN. It has not gone unnoticed.
On the official website of the station, now owned by Federated Media, there are salutes to sportscaster Bob Chase, who is still on the air after 56 years at WOWO, and to the late Bob Sievers, who hosted “The Little Red Barn” morning show for decades.
But for fans of the station and its history, there is much, much more on the www.historyofwowo.com website, which has been on the Internet since last June. It features a detailed history of the station, recalls many staffers from over the decades and is loaded with jingles, airchecks and photographs.
