CBS Radio’s Top 40 98.7 AMP Radio Detroit is bringing awareness to the America’s increasing bullying problem and providing resources for people of all ages who are the victim of bullying via a PSA campaign.

“Unfortunately, bullying has become a serious issue recently,” said Debbie Kenyon, VP/Market Manager of CBS Radio Detroit.  “Kids not only have to endure this at school, but now kids and adults are experiencing this through social media. 98.7 AMP Radio, our core artists, our on-air talent and the Detroit Lions are reaching out to let kids know that bullying isn’t right.”

AMP Radio started airing PSAs urging the public to end the epidemic of bullying as well as to seek help if victimized by bullying.  The PSAs are voiced by several 98.7 AMP Radio artists, including Jason Derulo and Taio Cruz, and Detroit Lions players, like quarterback Matt Stafford, defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh and defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch.  98.7 AMP Radio’s on-air personalities have also taped PSAs.

The station also developed a webpage with listings of other websites and phone numbers that kids and their parents can use to get help. It’s at www.987ampradio.com

AMP Radio hopes to expand the effort into schools to increase awareness and wants to help launch a heroes program within schools that would encourage students to report bullying and to offer their support to students have been bullied.
