Rob J. Kakareka has joined Florida-based media technology company Qligent, known for its cloud-based, enterprise-level content monitoring and analysis, as its new Manager of Business Development.
Kakareka is a broadcast industry veteran with extensive sales experience, and is tasked with developing U.S. sales, customer relationships and market opportunities.
He reports to Qligent Director/Sales John Shoemaker, and will work from Atlanta.
Kakareka will focus on selling Qligent’s Vision cloud-based monitoring and compliance platform to U.S. broadcasters, including networks and locally owned stations.
“I’m excited to be promoting the value and benefits of Qligent’s flagship product, Vision, at a time of rapid change in the broadcast industry,” said Kakareka. “Despite this dramatic IP-centric shift, the broadcast industry remains a close-knit community with unique requirements and workflows. My goal is to show broadcasters that we have their backs as they venture into new and emerging market opportunities.”
Kakareka’s resume includes stints at (Orad) Graphics Systems (from February 2014 to February 2016), Miranda (February 2012 to March 2014), Pixel Power (February 2008 to February 2012) and BarcoNet (February 2001 to February 2002).
Qligent will exhibit its Vision cloud-based service at IBC2017, from Sept. 15-19, at the RAI Convention Centre (stand 8.E47) in Amsterdam.
