ABC # 2 Friday; ‘Primetime: What Would You Do?’ ratings upper

Friday Night (8-11pm) ABC placed a strong second against its network rivals on Friday in Adults 18-49 (pacing within one-tenth of a tie for first), outdelivering NBC by 8% and Fox by 27%.  The Net also held the #1 position on the evening with Women 18-49.  


Primetime: What Would You Do? (9-10pm):  DID parkgoers intervene when an out-of-control soccer coach pushes a young player beyond his limits? Did anyone actually help an inebriated woman start her car? Did a fellow pharmacy customers come to the aid of an elderly woman who needs a prescription filled but can no longer afford it because insurance won’t cover anymore? Using hidden cameras, “Primetime: What Would You Do?” sets up everyday scenarios and then captures people’s reactions.

Ratings results Friday: Continuing to build sharply on its lead-in (+1.4 mil/+50% in AD18-49), ABC News’ Primetime: What Would You Do? topped its network rivals in the 9 o’clock hour for the 3rd consecutive week among Adults 18-49.   From 9-10pm, What Would You Do? defeated established original time-slot competition, including CBS’ season finale of Medium (+13%), NBC News’ Dateline (+38%) and Fox’s season finale of Kitchen Nightmares (+29%). 

Primetime: What Would You Do finished as Friday’s highest-rated program across the major nets for the 3rd week running in Adults 18-49.  The ABC newsmagazine also qualified as Friday’s #1 TV show with Women 18-49.

20/20 (10-11pm): ABC’s 20/20 ranked #2 in the 10 o’clock hour among Adults 18-49 (tie) and Women 18-49.  20/20 featured Chris Cuomo’s report on a man who was applauded by neighbors for committing a murder.
