“NIGHTLINE” grows +6% among A25-54 and +9% among A18-49 YEAR TO YEAR. ABC News’ “Nightline” was the No. 1 program among A25-54 and A18-49 for the week of June 7, 2010, outperforming CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” and NBC’s “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno,” according to Nielsen Media Research.


This is the third consecutive week “Nightline” has ranked first among A25-54 and A18-49. In the A25-54 rating (1.2), “Nightline” tied “Leno” and “Letterman” for first place. “Nightline” averaged 1.543 million for the week among Adults 25-54, growing +6% compared to the same week last year, while “The Tonight Show” declined -25% and “Letterman” remained flat. Among A18-49, “Nightline” was again the only show versus the competition to grow, averaging 1.38 million and increasing +9% year to year, while “The Tonight Show” decreased -39% and “Letterman” remained flat.

Among Total Viewers “Nightline” grew +2% year to year, while “The Tonight Show” and “Letterman” both decreased -5%. Season to date, “Nightline” posted 3.82 million Total Viewers, just 40,000 viewers away from first place.

ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Martin Bashir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
