ABC’s ‘Nightline’ ties ‘David Letterman’ in 18-49

ABC News’ “Nightline” tied CBS’ “Late Show with David Letterman” in the A18-49 rating (1.0), according to Nielsen Media Research for the week of March 8, 2010. “Nightline” is also solidly in second place season to date among Total Viewers, with 3.88 million. The program continues to experience growth, increasing +1% compared to the same week last year, while NBC’s “Tonight Show with Jay Leno” decreased -18%. Week to week, “Nightline” increased +2% among Total Viewers while “The Tonight Show” decreased -21%.


Additionally, with Leno’s second week as host of “The Tonight Show,” Nightline” shrank the total viewing gap with NBC by 63% and the A25-54 gap by 56% week to week. “Nightline” also cut the gap with “The Tonight Show” year to year, closing the gap by 63% among A25-54 and 59% among Total Viewers.

ABC News’ “Nightline” is anchored by Cynthia McFadden, Terry Moran and Martin Bashir. John Donvan and Vicki Mabrey are correspondents. James Goldston is the executive producer. The program airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m., ET on the ABC Television Network.
