Alabama Broadcasters ready for annual conference

ABAThe Alabama Broadcasters Association’s annual conference will be held Aug. 15–16 at the Wynfrey Hotel/Hyatt Regency in Birmingham. The conference will feature an exhibit floor, association business meetings and sessions on radio programming, engineering, sales, news, social media, management and legislative, FCC and broadcast law.


The news sessions are a cooperative project with the Poynter Institute and will include First Amendment and legal issues, copyright and fair use, social media and mobile media, citizen journalists, race and ethnicity, writing skills and photojournalism.

Speakers include attorneys from NAB and communications lawyers  from Fletcher Heald & Hildreth. Speakers at the sales sessions are Bryan Dodge, David Rich and Scott Bebout.

The Broadcaster of the Year ceremony and inductions into the Hall of Fame will be held 8/15, at a luncheon.

Citizen of the Year and the Hall of Fame inductees were featured here and include University of Alabama broadcast engineer David Baughn.

Engineering Day will be held 8/16.
