Alejandro Sanchez Sobrino named VP/GM of Telemundo Orlando

ZGS Communications announced today that Alejandro “Alex” Sánchez Sobrino has been named Vice President and General Manager of WTMO Telemundo Orlando effective immediately.   Sánchez Sobrino has more than two decades of experience in the industry with a career that has included leadership positions in television, radio, print and digital media.   He will report to Ronald J. Gordon, CEO of ZGS.


“Alex is a proven leader and versatile media executive with tremendous energy and expertise.  We are excited to welcome him to ZGS.  WTMO is strongly positioned in the market and I am confident that the station, which has shown significant growth, will reach even new heights under his leadership,” said Gordon.

Sánchez Sobrino started his career as an Account Executive at KWEX Univision in San Antonio, subsequently working for Telemundo in various sales capacities, including Sales Manager in Miami.  He was one of the first executives to join Radio Unica Inc., and has also managed stations for LBI Media in Dallas and Entravision in Monterey, California.  Sánchez Sobrino was Vice President of Marketing and Sales for the Dallas Cowboys where he hosted and produced the team’s show Cadena de Plata.  He has experience in print and digital media as Publisher for both Dallas Morning News’ Al Día and the Houston Chronicle’s La Voz, the largest Spanish-language publication in Texas.  He joins ZGS after most recently serving as Executive Vice President of EPMG.  Sánchez Sobrino received Portada’s Media Executive of the Year Award in 2010.
