American General Media is debuting (1/16) a new local FM in Farmington, NM on 107.9 mHz. KPRT-FM plays Classic Hits from the 1970s through today. Calling itself “Pirate Radio,” the station will have little talk, GM Bill Kruger told the Farmington Daily Times. “It’s just going to be straight music — song after song.”
The station also will be the home of Piedra Vista High School sports. KPRT is launching with a playlist of more than 2,500 songs with the slogan “the best music mix on the planet.”
Kruger is GM for eight American General Media stations in Farmington and Durango and Cortez, CO. Sister Farmington stations are KRWN at 92.9 FM, KISZ at 97.9 FM and KENN at 1390 AM.
