Stocks ended positive Thursday to close a volatile session, as investors took the latest jobless claims report in stride. This is the sixth straight gain in a row. The DJIA added 24 points, or 0.2%, to close at 11,146.39. Stocks sold off in early trading on the jobless claims report, which showed a surprise surge in claims for the second week in a row. It was another good day for broadcast stocks as well.
The RBR Radio Index was up 15.804, or 4.98%, to 333.130.
The TVBR Television Index was up 3.487, or 1.73%, to 205.299.
