AOL sells Winamp, Shoutcast to Radionomy

radionomyRadionomy, the Brussels-based an international aggregator of consumer- and broadcaster-curated online radio stations, just merged with TargetSpot, creating the world’s largest digital audio ad network. Now it has bought Winamp and Shoutcast from AOL. Shoutcast’s 50,000-strong catalog of radio stations will add a lot more content and inventory for Radionomy. Winamp’s media playing software could be used to help program those radio stations and allow the stations to play on additional apps and platforms.

RBR-TVBR observation: It looks like Radionomy is ramping up to challenge TuneIn for both content, number of available stations and ad dollars.
