  1. I’ve been waiting for T.J. Holmes to appear on BET network since his departure from CNN late last year. I enjoyed watching him previously on Saturday mornings on CNN and look forward to his bright personality, thorough knowledge on every aspect of the news around the world, various Guests that present on his show, Mario Armstrong’s technology information, financial and political team (Lenny McAllister and Maria Cardona) news, etc. T.J. is very articulate in conveying the news with a charismatic flare that is appealing to all audiences. In my opinion it was a great lost to CNN because they haven’t really gotten such a person that can captivate the news such as T.J. on Saturday mornings. I still watch CNN on Saturdays morning even though they don’t have a stunning personality until about 12:00 noon when Fredericka Whitfield comes on.

In reading the article on BET’s lineup for the new season on shows I was very disappointed to read that T.J. Holmes will be hosting a late-night show. Well I can understand that to a certain degree why the time is set but this is a disservice for folks that really want to see T.J. Holmes show. I know that other networks have established anchor people in the time slots from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Such as ABC’s Diane Sawyer, CNN’s Wolf Blitzer, MSNBC’s Al Sharpton and NBC’s Brian Williams. The good thing is that I can catch all three of this anchor people on several different cable networks due to living in Frederick, Maryland without missing them due to the times that these shows come on. However, my problem with having T.J. Holmes coming on so late is that I will not be able to view his program because as most working class citizens we have a job and have to be in bed before 11:00 p.m.

I was hoping that T.J. would be in a time slot that allows better viewership of his new program. Folks that have watched him previously on CNN would like to have the opportunity to seeing him in a time slot that can continue to support him on the new show. However, having him at a very late night hour in my opinion would not be good. If you are trying to get minorities to vote for President Obama then its best to move T.J. in a timeslot that can grab viewers young, middle age, and seniors this would be appealing and the young people want to see someone that looks like them such as news anchor T.J. Besides BET has had problems in the past on the audience viewing their programs due to several things as poor shows, no news that can provide information to Minority’s, and simply junk shows that are not for mature audiences. BET needs to rethink this line up and present shows that are informational and timely for folks that are educated and stop leaving us educated folks out. This is why we do not look at your network because some of the shows are simply not appealing nor providing information or knowledge that is so critically needed for minority folks. As a minority, I will seek other networks to obtain the much needed news that is suitable, viable and offers information that can serve me in all aspects.
    Regards,
    Starbabe
