The NAB Radio Board has endorsed a “term sheet” for a Performance Royalty Fee agreement which would phase in a 1% of net revenues fee to be paid by music formatted radio stations. The proposal includes mandated FM chips in cell phones, but also has an out if that can’t get through Congress – slower phase-in of the Royalty fees.
