Bustos finds a WAY out of Colorado

Robert Augsberg’s noncommercial religious radio group WAY-FM Media Group is moving into the Denver market with KKHI-FM, courtesy of Bustos Media, which is spinning off its only Colorado property.

The station, licensed to Centennial CO, is going for $2.325M. WAY-FM will pay cash for the station, and will enter into an LMA to begin putting its stamp on the station prior to final FCC approval and closing.
Bustos is active in many western states, but this was its only inroad into Colorado.

The station is not the sharpest knife in the Denver FM drawer. It is a Class C3 on 101.9 MHz, operating with 9.5 kw off of a 535’ HAAT stick. It comes into town from the west and lacks full market coverage.
