A digital console manufacturer based an hour west of Leeds in England’s West Yorkshire region has selected pro audio distributor Group One as its U.S. partner for Audiotonix.

Calrec Audio, a broadcast specialist in business since the early 1960s focused on audio mixing for on-air and live production, finalized the agreement on Oct. 3. The pact enables October 3rd 2016.

Calrec says the move enables it to expand its services across the U.S.

The company recently added the Brio36 compact broadcast console and Remote production RP products to its product portfolio.

Calrec notes that this will not affect its existing relationship with Studio Consultants Incorporated (SCI), which has worked with Calrec for several years. In a statement, Calrec said SCI “will continue their dedicated Calrec sales and support work in the East Coast regions in conjunction with Calrec and Group One.”

Group One’s audio division presently distributes Blue Sky near-field powered monitors, Digico Digital Mixing Consoles, Jünger loudness control devices, MC2 high quality innovative amplifiers, surround control and audio monitoring, XTA digital signal processing equipment and Vandamme cables.

The company operates primarily through a network of independent sales representatives calling on nearly 1,000 different dealer and contractor accounts. Group One currently employs 13 people with the main office based in Farmingdale, N.Y. Sales and support personnel are also located in Las Vegas, Los Angeles, and Minneapolis.

With the pact, the entire Calrec America team will be incorporated into Group One.
