Car dealers nailed for deceptive advertising

FTC / Federal Trade CommissionThe FTC has taking action against a pair of auto dealership groups for using deceptive advertising – putting the spotlight on attractive terms but leaving consumers in the dark about the not so attractive accompanying terms and/or conditions.


“If auto dealers make advertising claims in headlines, they can’t take them away in fine print,” said Jessica Rich, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection. “These actions show there is a financial cost for violating FTC orders.”
