With only three nights of ratings yet to be tabulated, CBS is claiming victory in total viewers and the Household ratings for the 2009-2010 TV season. Fox will claim the prized 18-49 demo crown, as well as 18-34.
While Fox is again winning the big money demo, CBS is touting improvement in 18-49, noting that it has eight programs in the top 25 for the demo – more than any other network. Of course, what is not mentioned in the CBS season analysis is that it does not have the #1 show for the key demo, “American Idol,” and Fox does.
For the season to date – September 21, 2009 through May 23, 2010 – CBS provided this calculation of ratings data from The Nielsen Company. Three more days of data will not move the needle much.
