CBS Moving 200 Jobs to Nashville?

CBS RadioNashville Business Journal is reporting that CBS is most likely the company that state economic development official Jamari Brown was referring to when discussing “Project A,” a $5 million investment to relocate 200 jobs to Nashville. This conclusion was arrived at on the basis of confirmation from a number of sources.

The news comes on the heels of Warner Music Group’s recent announcement that it would add up to 500 jobs in four years in Nashville, mainly by stationing its national finance team there. Tennessee has offered $1 million in taxpayer incentives for the “Project A” deal, Brown told Metro’s Industrial Development Board on Tuesday.

CBS Radio owns 117 stations in 26 markets, reaching 65 million people a week in 2015. The business is poised for a major shakeup, as it peels away from CBS and plans to go public. In filings with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, CBS Radio says it is the second-largest radio-station owner in the nation, measured by audience and revenue.
