CBS takes first place during holiday week

CBS placed first in viewers for the fourth consecutive week and first in adults 25-54 for the third straight week led by Saturday’s NCAA MEN’S BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL FOUR, THE MENTALIST, SURVIVOR: HEROES VS. VILLAINS, UNDERCOVER BOSS and the Friday premiere of MIAMI MEDICAL, according to Nielsen live plus same day ratings for the holiday week ending April 4, week 28 of the 2009-2010 television year.

CBS Sports’ coverage of game two of the NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP FINAL FOUR (West Virginia vs. Duke) delivered its largest audience since 2005 (15.82m).  
 
THE MENTALIST was the week’s top scripted program in viewers, SURVIVOR: HEROES VS. VILLAINS was Thursday’s number one program in viewers and key demographics, UNDERCOVER BOSS ruled Sunday in all measures while the series premiere of MIAMI MEDICAL led Friday in viewers, adults 18-49 (tie) and adults 25-54.
 
For the week in viewers:  CBS (10.12m), ABC (8.53m), FOX (8.47m) and NBC (5.77m).  Season-to-date, CBS is first in viewers (12.06m), ahead of FOX (10.07m), NBC (8.77m) and ABC (8.57m). 

For the week in key demographics, CBS was first in adults 25-54 (3.4/10, tie with FOX) and second in adults 18-49 (2.6/08).  Season-to-date, CBS is first in adults 25-54 (4.2/10) and second in adults 18-49 (3.3/09).
 
For the week in households: CBS (6.2/11), ABC (5.4/09), FOX (5.0/09) and NBC (3.7/07).  In households season-to-date, CBS is first (7.3/12), ahead of FOX (5.9/09) and both NBC and ABC (5.4/09, each). 

CBS Weekly Highlights:
 
On Thursday, CBS was first in households (7.9/14), viewers (12.09m), adults 25-54 (4.2/12) and adults 18-49 (3.0/10). 
 
 SURVIVOR: HEROES VS. VILLAINS was first in households (6.7/12), viewers (11.26m), adults 25-54 (4.6/14) and adults 18-49 (3.5/12). 
 
 THE MENTALIST, airing at 9:00 PM, was first in households (8.7/15) and viewers (14.11m); it was tied for first in adults 25-54 (4.0/11, with ABC) and second in adults 18-49 (2.7/08). 
 
 CSI: CRIME SCENE INVESTIGATION, at 10:00 PM, was first in households (8.5/15), viewers (13.35m), adults 25-54 (4.1/11) and adults 18-49 (2.8/08)
 
 MIAMI MEDICAL (P) was first in households (4.8/09) and viewers (7.49m); it was tied for first in adults 25-54 (2.3/07, with NBC) and second in adults 18-49 (1.6/05, -0.1 behind NBC).  MIAMI MEDICAL was Friday’s Number One program in households, viewers, adults 25-54 and adults 18-49 (tied with “Dateline Friday”).
 
On Saturday, CBS won the night in households (9.6/18), viewers (16.52m), adults 25-54 (5.8/18), adults 18-49 (4.8/18), adults 18-34 (3.8/17), men 25-54 (7.6/23), men 18-49 (6.4/22) and men 18-34 (5.1/22).  CBS won every half-hour in households, viewers, key men and adult demos.  Compared to the Final Four Saturday last year, CBS was up +9% in households, +4% in adults 25-54, +6% in men 25-54 and even in men 18-49.
 
CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY – 2 (S) (9:02-11:22 PM) posted a 9.2/17 in households with 15.82m viewers and 5.7/17 in adults 25-54, 4.7/16 in adults 18-49, 3.8/16 in adults 18-34, 7.4/22 in men 25-54, 6.2/21 in men 18-49 and 5.0/20 in men 18-34.  Compared to the same game last year (which aired 9:07 PM to 11:36 PM), CBS was up +8% in households, +4% in adults 25-54 and +6% in men 25-54.  CBS NCAA BASKETBALL CHAMPIONSHIP SATURDAY – 2 posted its largest audience 2005. 
 
 On Sunday, CBS was first in households (6.1/11), viewers (10.23m), adults 25-54 (3.4/09) and adults 18-49 (2.6/08).  CBS swept these measures for the fourth consecutive Sunday.  CBS won every half-hour in households and viewers. 
 
 THE AMAZING RACE 16 SPECIAL (S) was first in households (5.2/09), viewers (9.12m), adults 25-54 (3.7/10) and adults 18-49 (2.8/08). 
 
? UNDERCOVER BOSS SPECIAL (S) was first in households (7.5/12), viewers (13.18m), adults 25-54 (5.0/12), adults 18-49 (4.0/11) and adults 18-34 (2.6/08).  UNDERCOVER BOSS SPECIAL was Sunday’s Number One program in households, viewers, adults 25-54, adults 18-49 and adults 18-34.
