Company bought company that’s buying an FM

Steven Humphries says that his DealerAdvance wants to break into the media business, and to that end last year bought Spectrum Broadcast based on SB’s plans to buy a Texas radio station. Now the letter of intent for KZAM-FM Pleasant Valley TX is upgraded to an Asset Purchase Agreement.

The names DealerAdvance and Spectrum Broadcasting will be going away soon, as company names – plans are in the works to flip the corporate moniker to Cabal Communications Corporation.

KZAM is licensed to South Texas FM Investments LLC, an interesting licensee name for a station serving the Wichita Falls market not far from the north Texas line the state shares with Oklahoma.

KZAM-FM is a relatively young station, a Class A on 98.7 MHz with 6 kw on a 318’ stick. FCC paperwork on the deal is expected to be filed shortly.

The buyer says it plans to become a “broad-based media company with holdings in the print, broadcasting and billboard industry under the name Cabal Communications Corporation.”

Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
