Greater Dayton Public Television/Think TV, the noncommercial entity operating WPTD Channel 16 and WPTO Channel 14 in Dayton OH, and Greater Cincinnati Public Television, operator of WCET Channel 48, are planning a merger within the next three months. The Dayton stations’ David Fogarty will serve as president of the merged entity, while Cincinnati’s Susan Howarth exits to pursue other opportunities. According to Dayton Daily News, the stations will retain their local focus while at the same time sharing resources and taking advantage of operating efficiencies to save on overhead. They say no staff cuts are anticipated.
