Copper thieves caught on camera on “The Glades”

Two suspects stole more than $20,000 worth of copper cables A&E TV show’s Pembroke Park, FL production studios. The hit show has been hit twice by two thieves in the past month, according to real detectives with the Broward Sheriff’s Office.


Investigators have released two surveillance videos showing two suspects at the same warehouse location in pickup trucks, committing the same crime, but on different days, reports The Sun-Sentinel.

The first theft happened 4/9, when two men in a white Ford F-150 drove up to the set’s loading dock area and stole about $20,000 worth of copper cables that run from two generators to power air conditioners on the production sets.

The surveillance video shows the pickup driving into a parking lot filled with trailers. Two men got out and took about 2,000 feet of cable from two generators.

The second theft occurred 5/1, when a red Ford F-150 drove up to the same spot and two suspects took about 300 feet of cable valued at about $3,000.

Convicted copper thieves could face charges that include larceny of more than $20,000, criminal mischief and burglary.
