News from the belly of the NY State media wars for the governor’s race: Looks like NYS AG Andrew Cuomo may be smelling victory as he ups his weekly TV buy to include upstate cable systems for up to six insertable networks. With Republican gubernatorial hopeful Carl Paladino trailing well behind in the polls, Cuomo is now pushing for votes in the upstate NY area which could defer to Paladino with his Buffalo roots. Sources peg the latest buy in the $400K range for 10 days.
Meanwhile, Paladino has changed media buyers to the buying head of Multi Media Marketing in Alexandria, VA–Dwight Sterling. Look for some creative & forceful buying from this savvy shop, we have been told.
