Cash and keys have been exchanged for a three-AM, three-FM radio cluster in the Elmira Corning NY Arbitron market. Ira Rosenblatt’s WS2K Radio Group sold the stations to Sound Communications, headed by Bill and Paige Christian.

According to brokerage firms Frank Boyle and Company and Kozacko Media Services, which collaborated on the transaction, the price was $1.425M.

The stations include WCBA-AM, WGMM-FM and WENI-AM, all licensed to Corning NY, WENY-AM and WENY-FM, licensed to Elmira NY, and WENI-FM, licensed to Big Flats NY.

“There is a strong track record in the community for these stations, and our intention is to help make it even stronger,” commented Paige Christian.

Sound is related to Vision Communications, which owns television stations Fox WYDC-TV and low power outlet MNT WJKP-LD in the Elmira-Corning market and MNT WBGT-CA, a Class A outlet in Rochester.
