EntercomEntercom has begun broadcasting ESPN Sports Radio on 95.7 FM (W239BF). The station used to re-broadcast Religious WCIY-FM Canandaigua, NY. W239BF is 250 watts @ 453 ft. (see coverage map). In addition, ESPN Rochester will now broadcast across multiple channels, including an HD2 channel, 24/7 streaming online at ESPNRochester.com, and through the TuneIn Radio app. ESPN Rochester will also continue to air on AM at 950 (WROC).

“This is an exciting day for our brand, our clients and, most importantly, our listeners. Since we launched ESPN Rochester in 2008, our goal has been to deliver the most compelling and entertaining brand of national and local sports talk to Rochester. From FM to AM to HD and online streaming, we are putting the best sports content where sports fans demand and access it,” said Entercom VP/Market Manager Susan Munn.

This announcement makes ESPN Rochester the only sports station in the market broadcasting on FM. With 86% of all radio listening in Rochester happening on the FM dial, simulcasting on FM along with our Web presence at ESPNRochester.com gives direct access to a better and larger qualitative listener profile, especially younger listeners, who rarely listen to AM radio.

“ESPN media reaches 58% of men and 81% of avid sports fans nationally and ESPN Rochester has the biggest brands and names in sports from the Bills and Sabres to the #1 sports morning show in the country with Mike & Mike. With ESPN Rochester now on FM, it makes our already powerful cluster of stations an even better advertiser choice to serve the important male audience,” added Munn.

ESPN Rochester is home to the biggest sporting events, as well as local, regional and national play-by-play, including the Buffalo Bills, Buffalo Sabres, Notre Dame Football and St. John Fisher sports.
