Jones MediaAmerica President Jed Buck leaving
A "total surprise" to Jones Media Networks: just-promoted Jones MediaAmerica President Jed Buck is leaving the company to work with his family in a totally separate business from radio. Although no longer an employee, Buck will continue to work with JMA as an outside consultant on a project basis. His last official day at JMA is 9/10.
Jones did everything they could to try to keep him involved in any way he wanted to. His leaving was really not an anti-Jones thing, but, again, something he's doing with his family.
WYD Media Management CEO/former Jones MediaAmerica CEO Ron Hartenbaum tells RBR: "Jed is a phenomenal executive and a fabulous person. He's going to move forward in a family business. Hopefully in the future, we'll have him back in the radio industry, where he's done some wonderful things."
Jones MediaAmerica CEO/Jones Radio Networks President Bob Hampton comments, "While we will miss Jed's experience and management skills, I have a great deal of confidence in the management team that we have just put in place. We are committed to continuing the delivery of superior service to our clients."
Jones MediaAmerica also announced the following restructuring:
* Gary Schonfeld will assume his prior position of President of JMA, in addition to his duties as Executive Vice Chairman of Jones Media Networks-Radio.
* Cathy Csukas, formerly SVP/Radio Sales, is being promoted to COO.
* Susan Love will be promoted to VP/Advertising Sales from NSM. She'll manage all Radio Advertising Sales and Marketing.
* Robyn Fisher will become VP/Sales Planning and Pricing.
* Liz Clemen will assume the role of Director of Business Operations, from Director of Finance.
* Frank DeSantis, formerly VP/Business Development, will now be VP/Client Service and Business Development.
