A pair of TV transactions related to the Pegasus Satellite bankruptcy proceedings provided about half of this week's value. On the radio side, one large cluster in a small market led the way for several singleton stations agreements in relatively large markets like Baltimore, Indianapolis and Cincinnati. The week signaled the end of a mid-summer slump.

TV Deal of the Week
MM corrals a flying horse
Troubled Pegasus Satellite Communications found a buyer for seven television stations in five markets. MM Broadcasting, headed by Edward Mule, Robert O'Shea, is spending just under 42.5M for two stations each in Wilkes-Barre and Portland ME, and one each in Chattanooga, Tallahassee and Gainesville-Ocala.

Schurz snaps up Rapid Triad cluster
Triad Broadcasting's robust Rapid City SD cluster, comprised of KKLS-FM, KFXS-FM, KKMK-FM, KOUT-FM, KBHB-AM & KRCS-FM, is going to Schurz Communications for 19M, topping out the action in a busy week of trading.
