After basically taking off the month of December, traders snapped back into action during the first week of 2005. In fact, FCC filings came within about 5.4M of matching the entire previous month. Still no TV deals, but that'll come in spades next week.

Castro lights up Austin
Border Media paid 19M for three AMs and an FM in the Austin area from companies associated with Jose Jaime Garcia, which it'll add to the AM and pair of FMs it already has in and around the Texas state capital. Tom Castro beat out Louis Mercatanti and his Nassau Broadcasting - - which filed for stations in Hagerstown MD - - for top weekly honors by 1M dollars.
