RTNDA selects extreme makeover design team

Five design firms have been selected to participate in RTNDA's first ever Extreme Makeover competition. One lucky television news station will be selected to take delivery of a new on-air look, including an invigorated set with new music and graphic packages. The winning station pays nothing.

The design team members include:

Caroline Aldridge, Broadcast Design International Inc.

Stephen Arnold, Stephen Arnold Music

Dan Devlin, Devlin Design Group Inc.

Mack McLaughlin, FX Group

Kathy Mosher-Boulé, FX Group

Tim Saunders, Broadcast Design International Inc.

Dianne Streyer, VDO Inc.

"This will be a team design approach involving the participating set design, graphics and music firms," says RTNDA VP Rick Osmanski. All five firms have agreed to work together on design, implementation and installation.

The entire process will be videotaped and packaged for a session at RTNDA@NAB in Las Vegas. RTNDA member Chip Mahaney, managing editor at KDFW-TV in Dallas, is spearheading the project and producing the educational program.

More roasters for Brown

Three more roasters have been named to "dishonor" Jefferson-Pilot Radio's Clarke Brown at the 19th Annual Bayliss Radio Roast March 16th in New York.
