Awkward auction: Applicants need to validate themselves

What if you held an auction and only a couple of people came? The FCC seems to be facing a scenario even less competitive than this with its Auction No. 32, which features CPs for three AM stations (RBR Daily Morning Epaper, 10/17).

Two of the stations are in the Las Vegas area. Up for a facility on 1100 are Lotus Broadcasting Corp. and Palmetto Radio Group. Third bidder Kemp Communications currently has an application error which the FCC describes as "invalid attachments."

Both bidders for 1590 kHz, also near Las Vegas - - Alvin Lou Media Inc. and Powell Meredith Communications Co. - - are also hampered by invalid attachments. No valid bidders are set at this point. Alvin Lou Media further has an invalid mailing address.

The third station is on 1340 kHz in Taos NM. Both contestants for this CP - - Alpine Broadcasting LP and the partnership of Richard L. Garcia and Darren Cardova, are also tied up due to invalid attachments.

Applicants have until 11/15 to get their applications up to snuff.
