ESPN RadioBrian Schimmel, Market Manager, Sunrise Broadcasting Wilmington, NC, says its WMFD 630AM Radio is also now heard on 95.9FM in the market. The AM, Wilmington’s first radio station in 1935, has been an ESPN Radio network affiliate for more than 14 years.

“Expanding to FM will introduce the station to hundreds of thousands of new potential listeners” according to Schimmel. “Ninety-Two percent of the market listens to FM radio weekly, while roughly one third of radio listeners visit the AM band”.

The 95.9 frequency is owned by Sea-Comm Media of Boca Raton, Florida. WMFD-AM is now heard on 95.9FM through a re-transmission consent agreement between Sunrise Broadcasting and Sea-Comm.

Sunrise Broadcasting also O&Os WAZO-FM, WKXB-FM, WILT-FM and WRMR-FM in Wilmington and Southeast North Carolina.
