FCCAs of Friday, the FCC was still planning to conduct its monthly open meeting on Jan. 28.

The agency issued the agenda as a blizzard was bearing down on the DC metropolitan area and just before federal offices closed several hours early. Experts predict it will take days for the area to recover and citizens to be able to drive on the roads again.

Expecting the worst, the House Commerce Committee has postponed all hearings for the week of the 25th.

The commission plans to take up expanding its online public file rules to broadcast and satellite radio, DBS and satellite TV operators.

The agency also plans to vote on a Notice of Proposed Rulemaking to support more EAS testing and bolstering alerting security, as well as promoting participation I the alerting system at the state and local levels.
