Good news: The FCC intends to use funds from the $1.75 billion TV Broadcaster Relocation Fund to reimburse eligible broadcasters and Multichannel Video Programming Distributors (MVPDs) for post-incentive auction equipment.
Here’s the slightly bad news: There are a host of price increases for several items.
All pricing can be found in a catalog of potential expenses and estimated costs created by the FCC’s Media Bureau, with Widelity brought on as a pricing adviser, and the Commission is now seeking comment. Comments are due Nov. 14, while reply comments are due no later than Nov. 29.
Following the public comment period, final baseline pricing will be established.
Well DUH. You need this? Good! The price just went up! (Lessons learned from Big Pharma.)
