On satellite radio subscriber numbers
A long-time fan of satellite radio weighs in on our suggestion that Sirius XM is facing tough subscriber numbers this year.
Of course the numbers are going to be lower for the quarter and the year. However, they already have over 19 million subscriptions, which makes them the 2nd largest subscription based company in the U.S.(Comcast cable is #1). On the other side of the coin, terrestrial radio is FREE, and apparently, judging by the current situation, you get what you pay for. In the next 3-5 years terrestrial radio will become obsolete, and HD radio is already dead. Have a nice day.
