There is no need to debate whether the river is polluted or not - it is and is not, depending on where you are along the river. The important fact is that it has religious significance and so if we all are to live together in harmony with all races and religions, we have to show due respect to each other's sensivities. It looks like the person is hale and healthy after the operation and in a position to give an interview. so even if the Ganges is polluted what does that have anything to do with the operation.
