Four hours, Two nights of ‘24’ delivers for Fox

The second night of FOX’s four-hour, two-night season premiere of ‘24’ posted a 3.4/8 among Adults 18-49 and drew 11 million total viewers.  ‘24’ showed growth throughout the night, gaining in its last half hour vs. its first among Adults 18-49 (+13%, 3.6 vs. 3.2) and in Total Viewers (+9%, 11.4 vs. 10.5 Mil.)


FOX ranked No. 3 for the night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 and No. 1 among Men 18-49 and Men 18-34.

Competition
ABC’s The Bachelor (3.8/9) and Castle (2.8/8) were both on the high side of their prior season averages.

CBS’ How I Met Your Mother (4.0/10), Accidentally on Purpose (3.5/9), Two & A Half Men (5.3/12) and Big Bang Theory (5.2/12) were all above their prior season averages.  At 10p, CSI: Miami (3.6/10) matched its lowest original of the season.

NBC’s Chuck (2.5/6) held close to its time period premiere last Monday (2.6/7) while Heroes (1.8/4) delivered its lowest original rating ever, falling -14% from last week’s prior series low.  The Jay Leno Show (1.3/3) was low, down -24% from its first-run average on the night (1.7/5).

The CW’s One Tree Hill (1.1/3) was on par and the premiere of Life Unexpected (1.2/3) matched Gossip Girl’s 2009/10 original average in the time period.
