Fox aired original 'Hell's Kitchen' w/ 'MasterChef' and wins Tuesday

FOX aired an original HELL’S KITCHEN and week 2 of new culinary hit MASTERCHEF and won the night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, beating the next highest rated competitors by +38% and by +63% among Adults 18-34.  FOX also won the night among all key male and female demos.


HELL’S KITCHEN
At 8p HELL’S KITCHEN delivered a 3.2/11 among Adults 18-49, up +10% versus last week and tied as its highest 8p rating of the summer in the core adult demo.
HELL’S KITCHEN was also up +2% in Total Viewers and drew its largest audience of the summer.

HELL’S KITCHEN was the highest rated program of the night among Adults 18-49, outperforming ABC’s Wipeout and premiere of Shaq Vs. and NBC’s America’s Got Talent.  HELL’S KITCHEN was also the highest rated program among Adults 18-34.

MASTERCHEF
Week two of MASTERCHEF delivered a 2.7/8 among Adults 18-49 — identical to last week’s premiere — and gained +2% in Total Viewers versus last week.

MASTERCHEF beat NBC’s America’s Got Talent in head to head competition in the 9p hour by +4% among Adults 18-49 and +14% among Adults 18-34.

MASTERCHEF won the 9p hour among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34, and was the second-highest rated show among young adults last night (behind HELL’S KITCHEN)

Competition
Following an average Wipeout (2.9/9) that was flat versus last week, the season premiere of ABC’s Shaq Vs. posted a 1.9/6 at 9p, up +12% from last summer’s premiere on 8/18/09. A repeat Primetime: What Would You Do? (1.6/5) aired at 10p.

On CBS, NCIS (1.4/5), NCIS: LA (1.4/4) and The Good Wife (0.9/3) were all repeats.

NBC’s Breakthrough with Tony Robbins (0.7/2) dropped -13% from its premiere last week (0.8/2), which matched the network’s lowest rating ever for a new series launch. America’s Got Talent (2.8/8) was low at 9p, up +8% from last week but down -13% from its prior Tuesday average (3.2/9).

The CW aired a repeat Plain Jane at 8p (0.5/2), followed by the premiere episodes of Canadian sitcom 18 To Life at 9p (0.4/1) and 9:30p (0.3/1).
