Fox, two-hour series-finale of ‘24’ locked in No. 2 ratings post

Last night, the two-hour series finale of 24 posted a 2.7/8 among Adults 18-49,  growing +12% in its second hour among Adults 18-49 and +11% in Total Viewers. FOX ranked No. 3 for the night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34 and No. 2 among Teens.


In the 9p hour 24 matched last week in Adults 18-49 (2.9) and was up +4% in Total Viewers (9.3 vs. 8.9 Mil.), while the 2-hr finale of ‘24’ was down -7% compared to last week’s one-hour telecast (2.7/8 vs. 2.9/8) and flat in Total Viewers (8.9 Mil).

Competition
Part one of ABC’s two-night Dancing With The Stars finale (4.0/12) posted the show’s lowest Monday night rating this spring, falling -2% from last week and -17% from its prior average (4.8/13).  Compared to the same performance finale last Spring, last night’s DWTS was down -9%.  In fact, this installment of DWTS failed to show a single week-to-week improvement for the first time in the show’s history.  At 9p, The Bachelorette posted its lowest season premiere rating to date (2.8/8), down -7% from its comparable launch last May (3.0/8 on 5/18/09).

CBS’ season finales of How I Met Your Mother (3.5/11), Rules of Engagement (3.3/9), Two & A Half Men (5.0/13) were all up week over week (+13%, +14%, +14%, respectively) but down from last season’s finales (-5%, -25%, -6%, respectively).  At 9:30p, Big Bang Theory (5.2/13) was down -5% week over week but up from last season’s 8pm finale.  At 10p, the CSI: Miami (3.3/9) was down -13% from last season’s finale.

On NBC, the two-hour season finale of Chuck (1.8/5) delivered the show’s lowest original rating ever, dropping -5% from last week and -18% from its 2009/10 average with original episodes (2.2/6).  Last night’s Chuck finale was down -25% from last season’s finale. At 10p, the series finale of Law & Order posted a 1.9/5, up +12% from last week but down -5% year over year.
