FOX w/ ‘American Idol’ ranked No. 1 Tuesday across all demos

On a tough night for all of the broadcast nets, FOX ranked No. 1 last night across all demos, outperforming the next highest-rated network by +158% among Adults 18-49. +190% among Adults 18-34, +345% among Teens and +47% in Total Viewers.


AMERICAN IDOL:
The Top 12 on AMERICAN IDOL posted an 8.0/22 among Adults 18-49 and won the night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Teens and all key demos. 

Compared to last Tuesday, AMERICAN IDOL held nearly all of its viewers, retaining 98% of the audience among Adults 18-49 and 99% in Total Viewers.

So far this season, AMERICAN IDOL’s average is on par with the same weeks last year (Most Current ratings vs. comparable Most Current), showing 94% retention among Adults 18-49, 94% among Adults 18-34, 97% among Teens and 95% in Total Viewers.

Competition

Following an 8p Lost repeat (1.2/4), an original episode of ABC’s Lost (3.8/10) matched its lowest rating ever with a first-run telecast (excluding clipshows), dropping -10% from last week and down -21% from its prior average this season (4.8/12).  A Flash Forward clip special posted a 1.6/4 at 10p.

On CBS, NCIS (3.4/10) delivered its lowest original of the season, down -11% from last week.  NCIS: LA (3.2/8) was also low and The Good Wife (2.7/8) was on par.

NBC’s The Biggest Loser (2.7/8) posted its lowest rating of the season (excluding clipshows), falling -10% from last week and -25% from its spring average (3.6/9).  At 10p, week three of new drama Parenthood (2.3/7) delivered its lowest rating to date, dropping -12% from last week and showing week-to-week losses with every episode on the air (3.1/9 > 2.6/8 > 2.3/7).
