FOX w/ ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ against NBA Finals takes 2nd place

Last night, FOX’s SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE led the network to a No. 2 finish for the night (behind ABC’s NBA Finals Game 1) among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Teens and won the night among all key women demos.


SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE posted a 3.2/10 for the night among Adults 18-49 and delivered its highest ratings of the season (both Fall and Summer) among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34 and Teens.

Compared to last week’s premiere on Thursday 5/27/10, SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE grew +7% among Adults 18-49 (3.2/10 vs. 3.0/10), +3% among Adults 18-34 (3.1/11 vs. 3.0/11), +11% among Teens (2.0/8 vs. 1.8/7) and +4% in Total Viewers (8.5 vs. 8.2 Mil.)

SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE also showed impressive gains versus Wednesday’s telecast, increasing +14% among Adults 18-49 (3.2/10 vs. 2.8/9) and +3% among Adults 18-34 (3.1/11 vs. 3.0/11), +18% among Teens (2.0/8 vs. 1.7/7) and +15% in Total Viewers (8.5 vs. 7.4 Mil.)

Summer-to-date SO YOU THINK YOU CAN DANCE shows impressive gains compared to its Fall’09 average on Tue/Wed, increasing +25% among Adults 18-49 (3.0/10 vs. 2.4/7), +20% among Adults 18-34 (3.0/11 vs. 2.5/8), +50% among Teens (1.8/7 vs. 1.2/5) and +31% in Total Viewers (8.1 vs. 6.2 Mil.)

Competition
Due to the nature of live sports, Fast Nationals for ABC are approximate.  Following the special Jimmy Kimmel Live Game Night at 8p (2.5/9) and the NBA Finals Pre-Game at 830p (3.2/11), ABC’s NBA Finals Game 1: Boston Celtics vs. LA Lakers posted a 4.5/13 from 9-11p, about even with last year’s Game 1 (Orlando Magic vs. LA Lakers), which posted a 4.4/12 from 9-11p in the Fast Nationals before rising to a 5.4/16 from 9-11:43p in the Finals.

CBS aired repeats of How I Met Your Mother (1.1/4), Rules of Engagement (1.3/4), CSI (1.5/4) and The Mentalist (1.8/5).

NBC ran a repeat Community (1.0/4) at 8p, followed by week two of new comedy 100 Questions (0.9/3) at 830p. Repeats of The Office (1.2/4), 30 Rock (1.2/4), The Office (1.4/4) and Parks & Recreation (1.2/4) aired from 9-11p.
