Friday "Dateline" #1 in adults 18-49; encore 'Outlaw' does well again

From 8-10 p.m. ET, “Dateline NBC” (1.4/5 in adults 18-49, 6.3 million viewers overall) reported its highest Friday rating in 18-49 in 14 weeks (since June 11) and biggest overall audience for a Friday telecast in 17 weeks (since May 21).  Week to week, “Dateline” is up 17 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.4 from a 1.2) and 28 percent or nearly 1.4 million persons in total viewers (6.3 million vs. 5.0 million).


In the time period, “Dateline” is #1 among the major networks in adults 18-49, adults 25-54, total viewers and most other key categories.  From its first half-hour to its fourth, “Dateline” grew by 42 percent in 18-49 rating (to a 1.7 from a 1.2) and by 31 percent or nearly 1.8 million persons in total viewers (7.3 million vs. 5.6 million). 

At 10 p.m. ET, an encore telecast of the “Outlaw” pilot averaged a 0.9/3 in adults 18-49 and 3.9 million viewers overall in a time period that included original competition from ABC’s “20/20” season premiere and CBS’s “Flashpoint” season finale.  The “Outlaw” pilot was previewed on Wednesday of this week at 10 p.m. ET and original episodes will air in this time period starting September 24.
