Grand Slam gets a second signal in St. Louis

Just weeks after filing to buy KFNS-AM in the St. Louis market, Grand Slam Sports is back with another deal, this time for KSLG-AM, which will allow it to double down on sports programming on the AM dial.

The seller is Simmons Media Group. According to the seller’s broker, Patrick Communications, the price will be $350K cash. An LMA was scheduled to begin 7/1/10 pending the closing of the deal, which still needs to get approval from the FCC.

Grand Slam, headed by David Greene, had been running KFNS in an LMA since 9/1/09, and it filed to acquire the station from Big Stick One on 6/15/10 for $1.4M. Details of that transaction can be found here:

Joining Greene in the Grand Slam ownership lineup are Todd C. Robinson and James G. Oelklaus. KFNS and KSLG will be their only two stations.
