'Hell's Kitchen' on Fox crosses the finish line fourth overall

HELL’S KITCHEN returned last night after a three-week hiatus due to MLB baseball pre-emptions and posted a 2.7/7 among Adults 18-49. HELL’S KITCHEN was down -13% from its last original on 10/13/10 but grew in every half hour of the night, gaining +21% in its last half hour versus its first (2.9/8 vs. 2.4/7).


FOX ranked No. 2 for the night among Adults 18-49 and Adults 18-34.

Competition
On ABC, the 44th Annual Country Music Association Awards (4.7/13) posted its lowest rating ever, down -11% from last year’s telecast (5.3/14 on Wed. 11/11/09).

On CBS, Survivor: Nicaragua (3.2/9) posted its lowest rating ever for a regular original telecast and was down -14% from last week. Criminal Minds followed at 9p with a 3.0/8, down -23% and tying its series low with originals. New series The Defenders (1.8/5) closed the night with CBS’s worst regular original performance in the time period in nearly seven years (since 48 Hours Investigates, 1.7/4 on 12/10/03), and through eight original telecasts remains -30% below CSI: NY’s year-ago performance in the time period (2.3/7 vs. 3.3/9).

NBC’s Undercovers (1.2/4) delivered its lowest rating to date, and through eight weeks is down -21% from Mercy’s comparable performance in the time period last fall (1.5/5 vs. 1.9/6). At 9p, Law & Order: SVU (2.0/5) matched its lowest original rating ever, down -9% week over week. At 10p, Law & Order: LA (1.7/5) posted its lowest original rating to date, down -11% from last week’s telecast.
