House subcommittee reschedules broadband hearing

The Subcommittee on Communications, Technology and the Internet had originally planned to tee up a session entitled “The National Broadband Plan:  Competitive Availability of Navigation Devices.” It had to postpone it, but now it’s back on the agenda.

Originally scheduled for Tax Day, 4/15/10, the event was cancelled, and in fact, a third NBP hearing took place before the navigation device topic could be considered.

The session is now back on the calendar for Thursday 4/29/10 at 10AM. The subcommittee is chaired by Rick Boucher (D-VA).

There have actually been developments on this very topic since the postponement. The FCC opened up a both a Notice of Inquiry and a Further of Further Proposed Rulemaking at its 4/21/10 Open Meeting designed to foster competition in this area.
