Donny Hudson, a longtime figure in Miami’s Hispanic media world, has been selected to serve as GM and VP/Sales for Spanish Broadcasting System (SBS)‘s three FMs in the Magic City: Tropical AC WCMQ-FM “Z92,” unique “Cubatón y Más” Latin Rhythmic WRMA-FM “Ritmo 95.7” and mainstream Tropical WXDJ-FM “El Zol 106.7.”

He will also oversee management of SBS’s LaMusica app.

Hudson has spent a total of 18 years, over various stints, at SBS. He succeeds Carolina Santamarina, who had been in the role since January 2014. On May 2, RBR + TVBR reported that Santamarina will now lead “SBS Portafolio,” which ties together SBS’s digital, mobile, television, radio, social media and live/experiential units, as a SVP.

From Sept. 2014-July 2016, Hudson served as an EVP/Sales for America TeVe, the Spanish-language netlet based in Miami.

Prior to that, he spent 13 years as SVP/Sales for SBS/Miami.

From 1998 through November 2001, he worked in sales for Hispanic Broadcasting Corp.’s Miami radio cluster, now Univision Radio‘s South Florida AMs and FMs.

Albert Rodriguez, SBS’s COO, said, “Donny’s radio experience and acumen are a matter of indisputable record and we’re confident in his leadership abilities and ability to take our Miami stations to the highest level of operational excellence. He knows radio, he knows the advertisers, he knows the company and its people and he’s intimately familiar with our Miami stations and audiences. No one is more qualified to take over the reins of SBS Miami.”
