Idol tops Wednesday

American IdolLast night, the AMERICAN IDOL Top 4 performance show won the night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54, Teens, and all key demos. FOX beat the #2 network (CBS) last night by +63% among Adults 18-49 and +52% among Total Viewers.


AMERICAN IDOL ranked #1 last night among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 25-54, and Teens.  FOX has now won 17 consecutive Wednesdays among Adults 18-49, Total Viewers, Adults 18-34, Adults 25-54, and Teens.

·         AMERICAN IDOL: 4.4/12, down -4% from last week’s Fast National rating (4.6), but is expected to go up by a tenth or more when Finals are released this afternoon.

o    Last night’s IDOL outperformed The Voice’s Monday performance finale by +16% in the core demo and by +50% in Total Viewers.

o    This marks the 9th straight week in the demo and the 14th consecutive week in Total Viewers that IDOL-Wed has beaten The Voice’s Monday airing.

o    In addition, IDOL drew +40% more viewers than the night’s #2 program, Criminal Minds

Competition

ABC’s The Middle (1.9/6) dropped -5% to its season low, followed by Suburgatory (2.1/6), which was up +5%. From 9-11pm, Modern Family (4.3/12, up +5%), Don’t Trust The B In Apartment 23 (2.3/6, flat) and Revenge (2.2/6, up +5%) were all in line their performances last week.

On CBS, Survivor: One World (2.7/8) was up +4% from its all-time series-low last week. Criminal Minds (2.8/8) matched its series low, down -7% from last week, while CSI (2.4/7) delivered its lowest-rated season finale ever, down -8% from last season’s finale (2.6/7 on 5/12/11).

On NBC, back-to-back episodes of Betty White’s Off Their Rockers at 8pm (1.5/5) and 8:30pm (1.6/5) were both up from last week (+15% and +14%, respectively). Rock Center with Brian Williams (0.8/2) was down -20% while Law & Order: SVU (1.7/5) were dropped -11% from last week.
