Ingersoll Rand, a global leader in vehicle service tools and equipment, was recently featured in the show Ultimate Car Build Off, which premiered 6/21 on the Discovery Channel. The partnership extends for the entire season, and Ingersoll Rand tools and equipment will be featured as technicians work on the project cars.

Hosted by pro car builder Lou Santiago and North American Rally Champion Andrew “ACP” Picard, the show was filmed in major U.S. markets, with each episode pitting mechanics from two competing garages against one another to build the best vehicle in four days. Garages competed to build vehicles like tank-tread semi trucks, underwater submersible cars, hovercrafts and other unique vehicles.

“Vehicle technicians use our tools and equipment every day on challenging applications, and they depend on us to be as productive as possible in the garage,” said Kevin Stamets, business manager for strategic channels with Ingersoll Rand. “This was a fun show to be involved with and a great way to showcase the speed and reliability of Ingersoll Rand tools when the pressure of the clock is against you.”

Garage teams used an extensive array of Ingersoll Rand power tools and equipment to build the cars, including impact wrenches, ratchets, surface preparation tools, and even Ingersoll Rand Club Car® golf carts. Final project builds were showcased and judged by car designer Chip Foose, with the “ultimate” garage team winning a cash prize of $100,000 at the end of the season.
