Mapleton Communication’s world-famous (and we’re not kidding about that) KPIG is on two FMs and an AM in California, not to mention streaming on the Internet. Now the AM is being dropped from the equation and leased out.

Veteran broadcaster John Douglas, as Pacific Media International, is LMAing KPIG-AM Piedmont, CA, according to broker Larry Patrick of Patrick Communications. The station with 8kw day/2.4kw night serves the San Francisco market on 1510 kHz.

KPIG remains live on the airwaves via KPIG-FM Freedom, CA, near Monterey, and KPYG-FM Cayucos, CA, covering the San Louis Obispo area.
