The House Subcommittee on Commerce, Trade, and Consumer Protection, part of the Committee on Energy and Commerce, will be hosting an executive from Goldline International as it delves into a hearing on H.R. 6149, the “Precious Coins and Bullion Disclosure Act.” The subcommittee is chaired by Bobby Rush (D-IL), and the bill is from Anthony Weiner (D-NY).

Earlier stories detailing the controversy surrounding Goldline, one of the advertisers that has ignored a wide boycott of Glenn Beck’s Fox News Channel program, can be found here and here.

The Goldline exec is EVP Scott Carter, and it appears that his presence will be the sum and total representation from the precious coin and bullion business. There are no broadcast or other advertising-related business representatives on the panel.

Here is the full witness list for the session, scheduled for Thursday 9/23/10 at 2PM eastern:
* Julius A. Bazan, M.D.

* Lois Greisman, Associate Director, Marketing Practices Division, Bureau of Consumer Protection, Federal Trade Commission

* Charles Bell, Programs Director, Consumers Union

* Scott Carter, Executive Vice President, Goldline International

* Howard Beales, Ph.D., Associate Professor, School of Business, The George Washington University
